Back to sewing my week away. I wanted to make some pincushions because I don't have any, so I found a few tutorials online. The patchword pincushion came from here and the tiny pincushion came from here.

Just made baby a small taggie blanket via this website. Turned out pretty well if I do say so myself, except I sewed the whole thing shut before turning it inside-out. I just love pulling out stitches. Here is the blanket I made before. I used some of the left over fabric to make the matching taggie blanket. They are both super soft with one side flannel and the other is called ultra cuddle fleece I believe.

First attempt at sewing
SUCCESS!
I found a tutorial online to make these simple baby burp cloths and thought that would be a cute project for me to fill some of my time. I inherited my Grandmother's sewing machine when she passed away recently and I have been wanting to learn to use it. I just made my first one and so far so good. My seams are a little crooked, but I'm sure it will get better the more I make. 1 down, 5 more to go.

Random things that make me laugh
A herd of goats grazing on the front lawn of the church, completely unattended.
I was driving past the building on Sossaman and Germann and noticed several goats just hanging around. Some were eating, others laying in the shade. No owner in sight. The Sheriff of Queen Creek stopped by to see what I was looking at and said he would find out where they came from. I felt like I needed to stay with them until someone could come and help...lol Mark helped the Mayor of Queen Creek load his ice cream machine in the back of a truck after a wedding reception and was given a gold shovel. Us playing a Minute to Win It game that was pretty uneventful, but seemed so stressful and competitive at the time. You had a minute to get so many ping pong balls to stick to 2 pieces of bread with peanut butter on them.
